The past few months have been transformational at the Fara Foundation. From healed wounds and restored mobility to expanded food programs and thriving families, your generosity is changing lives in Nicaragua every single day.
Following our incredible Varicose Vein Medical Mission this spring, we’ve continued providing advanced wound care and holistic support to patients at Clínica Fara—and the results are nothing short of extraordinary.
Wound Care Miracles: Lives Transformed

These incredible patient stories remind us why we do what we do:
- Evelin Cruz – A new patient since May, Evelin arrived struggling with a painful ulcer. After weeks of dedicated care, her wound is now fully healed—and so is her smile.
- María Melkia – After an entire year of treatments, María’s chronic wound has finally closed. “You made miracles happen,” she said tearfully during her last visit.
- Eusebia Herrera – After four months of specialized wound care, Eusebia walked out of the clinic with her ulcer completely closed and a renewed sense of freedom, supported by her custom-fit compression stockings.
- Alba Nubia Gutierrez Moreno – After battling an open ulcer for over a year, Alba’s wound healed in less than two months.
- Ramona – A long-time patient since 2012, Ramona returned earlier this year for another round of care. After just three weeks, she went home completely healed.
- Yolanda Torrez Betancurt – Joining us for the very first time this May, Yolanda is already showing promising results thanks to specialized treatments made possible by your support.
- Haydee Urbina Sampers – Age 75, had been coming to Clínica Fara on and off for several years. Although she missed the April medical mission, her ulcer fully healed thanks to the exceptional care of our staff and the support of her family, who ensured she was brought to the clinic every week for treatment. Her journey is a beautiful testament to how consistency, family support, and compassionate care can transform lives.
Restoring Mobility and Independence.
Not all miracles come from wound care alone. Sometimes, they happen when patients regain movement, dignity, and hope:
Marlon’s Journey – After a brain tumor left Marlon completely paralyzed, he worked tirelessly to recover basic mobility. This summer, the Fara Foundation provided him with a custom arm brace, knee brace, and cane to support his ongoing rehabilitation. His perseverance—and your generosity—have given him a fresh start.
Nourishing Bodies and Spirits
Beyond medical care, your support fuels our food security initiatives in surrounding communities:

- 560 families now receive monthly food packages, each containing 15 pounds of rice, 15 pounds of beans, 5 pounds of cornmeal for tortillas, 5 pounds of sugar, and one gallon of cooking oil. These packages are designed specifically with non-perishable items to ensure consistency and reliability.
- Undernourished children and individuals undergoing illness or chemotherapy receive an additional nutritional cereal to support their recovery.
- Children with special needs receive specialized formulas, diapers (pampers), and medications not available to them elsewhere.
- The three orphaned siblings (Katherine, Scarlet, and Jordan) receive extra care and support beyond the regular monthly packages, ensuring they have what they need to thrive.
- Seniors like Doña Prudencia Granados (95 years old!) and Filomena Chavarria Castro also receive regular deliveries, ensuring they are cared for with dignity and love.
Impact by the Numbers
Between May, June, and July 2025, 3,110 patients were treated at Clínica Fara.
